Educationally inclined, Francois pursued studies in Marketing and later earned a diploma in Business Management. Equipped with this knowledge, he embarked on a path that exemplified his unyielding commitment to personal growth and progress.
Francois’ journey through the Motor Industry showcased his dedication. His time with Toyota South Africa afforded him insights into the intricacies of management and operations. As he transitioned to car sales, his innate ability to connect with customers and understand their unique needs became evident.
In April 2008, Francois became an integral part of GEA. His visionary outlook and empathetic leadership style played a pivotal role in shaping GEA’s success. His unwavering commitment to innovation and progress was evident in the company’s achievements under his guidance.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Francois was a loving father to his 9-year-old daughter, Logan. His values, solid and unwavering, extended to all aspects of his life. Francois reached out to friends, offering an open hand and an open heart.
In 2018, Francois embarked on a new venture, opening DH Lifts—a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and his courage to embrace new challenges.
Francois’ journey through life came to a peaceful end at the age of 50. His passing leaves a void, yet his legacy continues to thrive in the values he instilled in us.
As we move forward, we take comfort in knowing that Carol van der Westhuizen, his partner, has taken up a leadership role within the company. Her commitment to carrying on Francois’ vision is a testament to their shared dedication.
